Head Coach: Tristan Wenzig

Full Bio:

Head Coach Tristan Wenzig has a long hockey history of both playing and coaching hockey. Tristan played amateur hockey in the Pittsburgh area and was an ACHA Division 1 player.  He is a proud member of the Pittsburgh Warthogs Veteran's hockey team.

Tristan is a USA Hockey Level 4 certified coach and will be moving into his 10th year of coaching since transitioning his journey from player to coach.  Within the past 10 years, Tristan has coaching experience in youth hockey from Mites to Juniors.

In 2012, Tristan accepted a coaching position with the Central Valley Warriors Varsity Team and simultaneously held the Head of Player Development position for the program from Peewee to Midgets until 2018.  Coach Wenzig had just recently accepted that same position back for the 2021-2022 Season.

In 2016, Tristan served as a head coach for the Lil 66’ers of the Pittsburgh Penguins Mite Program. He later earned the opportunity to be head coach at the Robert Morris Colonials Mite Tier 1 Travel program from 2016-2019.  During the 2019-2020 season, Coach Wenzig took an assistant coach position with the Arctic Foxes 2010 BY Squirt team.

Most recently, Tristan served as an assistant coach with the Southpointe Rink Rats 2010 BY AA team that won the PAHL championship during the 2020-2021 season.

Along with these coaching attributes, Tristan has coached with Tyler Kennedy’s Training Program as an assistant coach from 2017-2020.  He also coaches alongside Phil Bourque every year for Mr. Bourque's hockeyfest program.

Tristan has worked with multiple current NHL, Ex-NHL, AHL, and ECHL athletes, along with junior players.  Coach Wenzig currently runs his own private lessons and skills clinics/camps, works as a Humane Police Officer and retiring from the United States Air Force.
